Moeketsi Bernett Phalatsane was born in Thaba Nchu and attended schools at Namanyane Primary School, Ikaelelo Middle School and Albert Moroka High School. In 1995 he was suspended from working and the love of art developed in the year 2000 while unemployed. In 2005 he started working with the National Museum selling art through the museum while selling sculptures locally; till this day he is still working with the museum and some of his wooden sculptures can be found at the entrance of the Oliewenhuis Art Museum.
